Christmas Joy

This past Sunday we had two services, in the morning our Christmas Pageant, as we travelled together to Bethlehem. Part way through the pageant, one of the children asked me why we were walking so much. It was a very long journey from Galilee to Bethlehem, I answered, it would have taken Mary and Joseph days to get there.

In the evening, we had our Carols by Candlelight service. It is quite the experience to see the sanctuary filled with candlelight in the darkness. (If you missed this chance, come for our smaller Christmas Eve Communion service at 10pm Dec. 24th, when we will once again have candlelight). Here is a poem for the week, Denise Levertov’s “On the Mystery of the Incarnation”.
