Middle East Working Group

The goals of the Middle East Working Group of Trinity-St. Paul's and Bathurst congregations are:

1. to engage our congregations in education and advocacy concerning the conflict in Israel-Palestine, and to work for solidarity regarding a just and lasting peace in the region.
2. to respond to requests for solidarity from local and national organizations such as Canadian Friends of Sabeel www.sabeel.ca and the Toronto United Church Conference Holy Land Awareness and Action Group www.torontoconference.ca/boycottdivest.htm

Holy Land Week, passed unanimously by the General Council of the United Church in 2006, calls for United Church congregations throughout Canada to focus on Israel/Palestine for one week each year.

United for Peace Campaign www.united-church.ca/getinvolved/unitedfor peace, is one expression of The United Church of Canada's commitment to pursuing a just peace with dignity for all God's people.
