TSP 2026 Stewardship Campaign

Update on the TSP Stewardship 2026 Campaign
August 28, 2025

It is through the generosity of the congregation that we carry out TSP’s mission. It is an exciting time to consider and continue our mission, as we begin the “new year” with the Welcome Back Sunday on September 7, 2025, and are led in worship for the first time by our new minister the Reverend Hewitt Holmes.

Over the next few months, the Finance Committee will present information about TSP’s budget for 2026. There will then be a congregational meeting to approve that budget. For the Committee to propose a budget for 2026 that is properly informed, it is important to know as best we can what offerings can be expected for and during 2026.

In the spring, at the opening of our Stewardship 2026 Campaign, it was noted that the most significant costs in our budget are the wages paid to our minister, music director and administrator, and the amounts paid on their behalf for benefits such as pensions; and that it was expected that these costs would be approximately 5% higher in 2026. A request was therefore made that we each consider increasing our offerings by that amount. The answers to that request have been positive, and we thank everyone who has already responded for your thoughtfulness and any increase that you were able to make.

Most of TSP’s offerings come through regular monthly PAR offerings (via the UCC’s “Pre-Authorized Remittance” program), a somewhat preferred form of offerings because monthly offerings made through PAR allow us to meet our expenses throughout the calendar year; and through year-end lump sum gifts.

If you have not already pledged offerings for 2026, please consider joining the PAR program; or pledging a lump-sum amount for 2026.

If you would like to do either of these things, please contact Del Doucette at doucette@furgiuelelaw.com to let us know.

Peace,

Del Doucette, Finance Committee
